Gina Alzate

Gina Alzate, the Reluctant Metaphysician

Gina Alzate is a multi-generational Medium and Metaphysician. The first-born women throughout her maternal line were Mediums.  Several matriarchs on her paternal line were Practitioners of Shamanic Healing Arts. A few close relatives were Herbologists.  To integrate into the mainstream world, several relatives became physicians, nurses, pharmacists and psychologists.

Throughout her early life, spirit communication naturally occurred in her household filled with Intuitives and Sensitives.  Deceased loved ones continued to be a part of everyday living, especially during celebrated events as they make their presence known through the full-trance Mediums in the family.  Gina did not like the idea of any spirit borrowing her voice to speak to the family at large so she made every attempt to deny her gift of Mediumship and Intuition.  Yet, her sensitivity to energies continued to follow her throughout her adulthood.  Her clairsenses became stronger and continued to provide her knowledge of events in her natural surroundings and about the welfare of her loved ones.  She became acutely sensitive to people's intentions and her body became her barometer for events to come.

Gina Alzate, the Incidental World Explorer

Gina's love of world exploration began when she was just a baby.  Her parents lived separate lives and she experienced multiple living arrangements especially when she was separated from both of them when she was just six years old.  She became an invisible member of extended families.  This invisibility rendered her tremendous freedom to explore her environment as no one would miss her gone hours at a time.  Her curiosity about the world and its people coupled with her love of adventure gave her a longing to see more of the world.  That wish finally came when she reunited with her mother after six years of separation.

Gina immigrated to the United States from the Philippines just before she entered 7th grade.  Both her parents were descendants of Spaniards who originated from Catalan, Spain and occupied the Luzon province of the Philippines in the turn of the 19th century.  Traces of her ancestry still exist from Pangasinan to Abra, Philippines.  Gina first learned to speak Ilocano as it is the primary dialect spoken in her household.

When she began attending primary school, she learned Tagalog, the official language of the Philippines which all Filipino students must learn to communicate with one another throughout the country of over 70,000 islands and 83 dialects.  When Gina moved to the United States, she finally learned to speak better English as she only learned the Basics in the old country.  When she was in high school, her counselor suggested she study a foreign language if she wanted to attend college.  Still struggling with English and all the various ways of using the vocal apparatus to create sounds foreign to her, Gina chose to study Spanish as it is a distant cousin of Ilocano, sharing the same letters and word meanings.

DIVINE SELF EMPOWERMENT:

The 7 steps to achieving

True Balance

To this day, Gina still speaks Spanish fluently which made learning Portuguese and Italian easier throughout the years.  Interestingly enough, after high school she entered the military and after initial military training, Gina deployed to Germany for two and a half years.  It was then she studied German and discovered its syntax similar to English, and she began speaking German after a semester of studies.  Armed with the command of English, German and Spanish, Gina freely explored Europe and felt very much at home wherever she roamed.

Gina Alzate, the Consummate Truth Seeker

Gina has always honored the universal laws with childlike fascination.  It is as if she has known them all her life even when she was a child.  Out of intense curiosity on how living things interrelate with one another, Gina continued her interest in Metaphysics and became an intuitive lifelong scholar of ancient wisdom. As she ventured into her spiritual path and prepared herself for a major lifestyle change, she consistently followed her inner guidance and found her spiritual teachers on Earth.  The opportunity to meet each teacher sequentially, either in books or in person, came with the outpouring of synchronistic signs.

In 2005, Gina resolved to make peace with her spiritual gifts and revisited the idea of Mediumship.  As a result of her spiritual quest, each teacher validated Gina's natural ability as an energy healer and a channeler of angel and spirit communication.  She now feels the constant presence of her spirit guides and angels, with whom she works continually to manifest her vision into form for the highest good of all concerned. Her latest teacher is her own Higher Self which continues to bring magical adventures and spiritual truths into her life.

Shamanic arts practitioner, Karyn Armstrong, certified Gina as a Practitioner of Interior Alignment, Instinctive Feng Shui and Seven-Star Blessing Space Clearing. Dana Robinson of the Foundation for Shamanic Studies trained her in Core Shamanism.  World renowned clairvoyant and angelic healer, Doreen Virtue, Ph.D., certified Gina as an Angel Therapy Practitioner and Medium.  Internationally known intuitive and vibrational healer, Sonia Choquette, Ph.D. certified her as a Six-Sensory Practitioner - Level 1.  World-acclaimed feng shui expert and space healer, Denise Linn, trained and certified Gina as a Soul Coach and Past Life Coach. Carlos Gonzalez, an affiliate of the International Center for Reiki Training, attuned and trained Gina in Usui, Tibetan and Karuna Reiki Master levels.  Since 1990 Gina studied Western Astrology, Tarot Reading, and Personality Psychology.  Her on-going interest in human behavior led her to seek continuing education in all matters.

 Gina Alzate, the Visionary Teacher

Gina's passionate interest in higher learning is in human behavior and in alternative education, and lately in online learning.  She is pursuing her Ph.D. in Educational Psychology at Capella University.  She is completing her Ph.D. in Metaphysics at the American Institute of Holistic Theology. She took doctoral level courses at Saint Joseph's University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania but was unable to complete the program due to military assignments that took her away from the traditional classroom.  Gina is a student at Sheffield School of Interior Design in Professional Interior Design and in Feng Shui Interior Design.

Gina earned her M.S. in Vocational Education with an endorsement for Vocational Education - Secondary and a B.S. in Psychology from the University of Alaska Anchorage.  She held a Type-A Teaching Certificate, Vocational Education - Secondary from the State of Alaska for over a decade. She received two A.A.S. degrees from the Community College of the Air Force; one in Surgical Technology and the other in Dental Assisting.

Early in her teaching career, Gina supervised the vocational training and case management of people with developmental disabilities, serious mental illness, and traumatic brain injury at the Alaska Specialized Education and Training Services. She also supervised the home-stays of foreign high school students with the Academic Year in the USA enrolled in the Anchorage School District of Alaska.

These teaching experiences, her military education and training, and her own unconventional developmental years helped her create the Evaluation Model and Program Criterion of the National Guard ChalleNGe Program in 1993 which remains to be the standard in National Guard ChalleNGe Programs currently operating in 28 states and helping youth at-risk achieve productive adulthood.  The National Guard ChalleNGe Program is a tri-partite program supported by the US Department of Defense, US Department of Education and the Governors of participating states.

During the start-up phase from 1993-1996 of the Alaska Military Youth Academy which was one of the 15 Pilot ChalleNGe Programs which became charter schools, Gina developed the architectural framework for the recruitment, vocational training, counseling, host family, mentoring, and academic programs.  She further established the General Educational Development (GED) Testing Center at Camp Carroll, Fort Richardson, Alaska in 1994 in collaboration with the US Department of Education and the Alaska Department of Education, and became its first GED Chief Examiner.

Gina's work with the establishment of the National Guard ChalleNGe Program at the national level and in the state of Alaska was the basis for her induction to Phi Kappa Phi with the University of Alaska Anchorage chapter in 1996.  Since 1993 the National Guard ChalleNGe Program continues to make a difference in the lives of more than 70,000 youth at-risk who found new paths to a more productive adulthood.

Gina Alzate, the Spiritual Warrior

Gina served the Uniformed Services of the United States for nearly three decades.  She engaged several military career fields such as medical and dental, education and training, quality management, military equal opportunity, manpower and personnel, and communication and information.

Gina served as Quality Air Force Instructor and Advisor and taught process improvement methods Guardwide. She was one of 15 hand selected Diversity Instructors to deploy the National Guard Train-the-Trainer Diversity Program with the task of training 600 Diversity Facilitators nationwide, to train all of Army and Air National Guardmembers in Diversity Awareness.

Gina also served as Commandant of Cadets and Field Training Senior Staff Officer with the Air Force ROTC (Reserve Officer Training Corps) Detachment 750, while serving as Assistant Professor of Aerospace Studies (APAS) at Saint Joseph's University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, developing college students from 19 cross-town schools to become Second Lieutenants of the United States Air Force. During her service as APAS at St Joe's, Gina was the recipient of the 2004 Federal Asian Pacific American Council Award representing the Air National Guard.

Gina then served as Adjunct Research Analyst with the United States Air Force Counter Proliferation Center, and later as Adjunct Instructor and Curriculum Developer with the Defense Equal Opportunity Management Institute.

Gina served her last military assignment with the Air Staff at the Pentagon in the Force Development Directorate, Deputy Chief of Manpower, Personnel and Services as Strategic Future Force Development Analyst, conducting research into the future of Force Development 2012 and beyond and presenting decisional analyses for Air Force senior leaders.

When Gina felt the definite and strong inner guidance to change career paths, she passed up the opportunities for promotion to Lieutenant Colonel and applied for retirement instead.  Leaving the military before her time was not an easy decision as this had been the world Gina has known all her adult life. Yet, she continually felt the inner conflict of her spiritual longing with the reality of her everyday life which is the military's engagement in wars she could not support with all her heart.  Her body began to fail and she progressively became ill.  Military physicians and physical therapists could not locate the true source of her various pains. Moreover, Gina met several vehicle accidents around Washington DC area, and one got her incapacitated for a long while.  It was during recuperation that she encountered true angelic presence of loving energies who helped her heal with just the power of her thought.

Gina found Angel Therapy and Reiki, and she began to use these more on herself to help her heal her body aches.  When she realized how powerful it was to combine these healing energies, she began extending her healing intentions to her immediate surroundings, in the Pentagon and in the entire Washington DC area.  Doing so gave her more mental and physical energy and she began to heal herself without invasive medical intervention and pharmaceutical products.  She also began teaching others what she discovered in her experiences on her journey to the spiritual path.  The resulting positive changes in her students' lives gave Gina a clearer vision of her next role in life, that is, to usher others to come into their own personal power and redesign their lives so they can live their higher purpose.

After three years of inner work and self-reflection on her higher purpose, Gina took the leap of faith to follow her heart's desires.  She retired in April 2008 in the rank of Major with combined service to the U.S. Army, the U.S. Air Force, the Air National Guard, and the U.S. Civil Service, in both Enlisted and Officer Corps, as a civilian, and in active and reserve components.

Gina Alzate, the Warrior Goddess

Gina's love of world travel and diverse cultures re-ignited when Gina took the leap of faith to follow her spiritual path.  She followed her inner guidance to own her full-service travel agency, World Tours and Cruises, doing business as CruisePlanners which supports all of Holistic Life Designs at Sea journeys.

Gina refined the mission of her international consulting firm, Holistic Life Designs, and that is to facilitate customized transformational workshops on body, mind and spirit connection through Holistic Life Designs at Sea and Holistic Life Designs Online University
